The automobile engine transmits power to the gearbox, and a "flexible shaft" is installed on the output shaft of the gearbox, which is always connected to the speedometer in front of the driver, so as to measure the speed and mileage. The so-called "flexible shaft" is a spiral pipe with a steel wire rope shaft core like a cable used for a bicycle brake. There is grease between the sheath and the shaft core, and the outer tube is fixed while the shaft core can rotate. The rotation speed of this shaft core has a constant proportional relationship with the rotation speed of the wheel. The flexible shaft leads to the speedometer, so that the pointer can indicate the driving speed of the car. At the same time, the rotation of the flexible shaft is also transmitted to the roller counter in the middle of the speedometer through the turbine scroll bar, and the mileage represented by the number of revolutions of the wheel is accumulated.
